Planet Uchha and Nich in Vedic Astrology
Planet Uchha and Nich in Vedic
Astrology
In Vedic Astrology, the placement of
planets in different signs of the zodiac can greatly influence their strength
and ability to exert their energy. Two important concepts related to the
placement of planets are Uchha and Neecha, which refer to a planet's exaltation
and debilitation, respectively.
Uchha or Exaltation: A planet is said to be exalted when it is placed in a specific sign where it can express its energy and qualities to their fullest potential. An exalted planet is considered to be powerful and is believed to bestow its blessings on the native. The sign of exaltation for each planet is as follows:
Sun: Aries (0 degrees)
Moon: Taurus (3 degrees)
Mars: Capricorn (28 degrees)
Mercury: Virgo (15 degrees)
Jupiter: Cancer (5 degrees)
Venus: Pisces (27 degrees)
Saturn: Libra (20 degrees)
Neecha or Debilitation: On the other hand, a planet is said to be debilitated when it is placed in a specific sign where it cannot express its energy and qualities to their fullest potential. A debilitated planet is considered to be weak and may not be able to provide its full benefits to the native. The sign of debilitation for each planet is as follows:
Sun: Libra (10 degrees)
Moon: Scorpio (3 degrees)
Mars: Cancer (28 degrees)
Mercury: Pisces (15 degrees)
Jupiter: Capricorn (5 degrees)
Venus: Virgo (27 degrees)
Saturn: Aries (20 degrees)
It's important to note that the
strength and influence of a planet in a birth chart is not solely determined by
its exaltation or debilitation. Other factors such as its placement in a
particular house, its relationship with other planets, and its overall strength
in the chart also play a significant role in determining its effects on the
native.
Astrologers often consider the Uchha
and Neecha placements of planets when analyzing a birth chart to gain a more
comprehensive understanding of a person's life and destiny. They may also
provide guidance on how to enhance the positive effects of an exalted planet
and mitigate the negative effects of a debilitated planet.
